Air for laboratories

In laboratories, compressed air is extensively used for various diagnostic, analytical and measuring devices to drive, control and clean their pneumatic components. These systems require high-quality dry compressed air (free of oil vapors and moisture), which is necessary to guarantee the results of their measurements. Areas of use

Rheometers

Rheometers are devices for determinating the viscosity of substances in food and chemical industry. The DK50 compressor with dryer provides air bearings, which are the guarantee of the accuracy of measured results, with clean and dry air.

Microscopes

Electron microscopes are usually placed on pneumatic vibration-absorbing pads. Clean compressed air is needed for air vibration dampers. Minimum air quality requirement – dry and free of particles.

Chromatography – zero air generators

Extremely pure compressed air (free of humidity and any particles) is used as a reference gas for calibration of gas detectors and sensitive measuring equipments for breathing air. EKOM compressors equipped with the dryer and completed with catalyst can create extremely pure compressed air (zero air).

Automation (autosamplers)

Autosamplers are extremly sensitive to any pollution and humidity in the air. The compressed air is used for the control of actuators, pneumatic cylinders and control valves. Air purity is essential in terms of long-term reliability and long service life of connected equipment.

NMR spectroscopy (nuclear magnetic resonance)

NMR instruments require high-quality air with a drying rate from -40 °C to -70 °C pressure dew point. The air is used to spin the examined sample within a magnet.

FTIR spectroscopy (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy)

Before a sample is placed in the chamber of a spectrometer for an analysis, the chamber has to be purged with pressurized, dry and emission-free air in order to achieve the most accurate results.

Sterilizers and industrial washing machines

Clean and compressed air is supplied to the sterilizer's pneumatic locking system. High-quality air is also used for cleaning instruments and the laboratory equipment.

Nitrogen generators

The generator efficiently extracts nitrogen from the clean compressed air supplied by an oil-free compressor equipped with a dryer.

High-speed centrifuges and analytic measuring instruments

Clean air without oil and condensate is used to drive air turbines, vacuum nozzles or air bearings.
